Mangled Mind

I've gotten used to nonsensical manifestations of the English language and circular reasoning (to use the term loosely), because I read the "Sound Off"  column in the daily paper.  But my sense that our language is dying became intensified yesterday at the TV scroll advising of a weather warning "that will expire until further notice."  It is a memo, of course, with space constraints, but still somebody put those words together, and that's a frightening thought.

Miley and Me

Poor Miley Cyrus is still in the hospital, and crying because she hates it there, wants to be on her music tour.  Reportedly, she is hospitalized because of a severe reaction she had to the antibiotic she was prescribed for a sinus infection. The antibiotic was Cephalexin.  I sympathize: I took the same prescription for a dental cleaning on Tuesday, and it kind of wrecked me too, for a while.
